Find Your People

Ava had always longed for relationships that felt real—friendships that were steady, honest, and rooted in something deeper than convenience. She had known plenty of surface‑level connections, but her heart craved something more: relationships that reflected God’s heart.
After a season of disappointment and broken trust, she prayed a simple prayer:
“Lord, teach me how to build relationships Your way.”
She didn’t know it then, but that prayer would change everything.

The Beginning: Learning to Love Like God
Ava’s journey started with Scripture. She realized that before she could build godly relationships, she had to understand God’s definition of love.
One morning, she opened her Bible to a familiar passage:
“Love is patient, love is kind…it does not seek its own.” -1 Corinthians 13:4-5
She had read it countless times, but this time it felt personal.
God wasn’t just describing love—He was inviting her to practice it.
So she began small:

Choosing forgiveness over resentment
Listening without rushing
Encouraging without expecting anything back
Showing kindness even when it wasn’t returned

It wasn’t always easy, but she felt God shaping her heart.

The Shift: Relationships Built on Faith
As Ava grew in her walk with God, something beautiful happened—He began sending the right people into her life.
Not perfect people.
Not people who always agreed with her.
But people who loved God and wanted to grow.
They prayed together.
They studied Scripture together.
They held each other accountable.
They laughed, cried, and shared life.
Ava realized that godly relationships don’t just happen—they are built through intentional faith.

“Two are better than one…if either of them falls, one can help the other up.”
-Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

These friendships became a safe place where she could be honest, vulnerable, and spiritually strengthened.

The Challenge: Loving Imperfect People
Even in godly relationships, misunderstandings happened. Feelings got hurt. Expectations weren’t always met.
Ava had to learn a hard truth:
People are imperfect, even the godly ones.
But Scripture reminded her of something deeper:

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.”
-1 Peter 4:8

So she chose grace.
She chose humility.
She chose to talk things through instead of walking away.
And every time she did, the relationships grew stronger.

The Breakthrough: God at the Center
One evening, Ava sat with her journal and realized something profound:
The strength of her relationships wasn’t based on personality, compatibility, or convenience—it was based on God.
When God was at the center:

Purpose became shared
She finally understood what Scripture meant when it said:

Love became deeper
Forgiveness became easier
Communication became clearer
Unity became natural

“Let us love one another, for love comes from God.” -1 John 4:7

Godly relationships were not built on human effort alone—they were built on divine love flowing through imperfect people.

The Fruit: A Community Rooted in Christ
Over time, Ava’s relationships became a living testimony of God’s faithfulness.

They prayed each other through storms.
They celebrated victories.
They spoke truth when it was needed.
They carried each other’s burdens.
They reminded each other of God’s promises.

“Encourage one another and build each other up.”
—1 Thessalonians 5:11

Ava realized she had found what she once only dreamed of:
A community shaped by Scripture, strengthened by prayer, and held together by God’s love.

Building godly relationships isn’t about finding perfect people—it’s about becoming the kind of person who reflects Christ.
Faith lays the foundation.
Love builds the walls.
Scripture becomes the blueprint.
And God Himself holds everything together.
When relationships are built His way, they don’t just bless your life—they transform it.
